On Friday, September 26th, Cresswood was honored to sponsor Rooted for Good’s “A Dinner for Good” fundraiser. Chef Josh from Wild Carrot Cooking Company prepared an incredible meal for 75 guests, and the evening served as a powerful reminder of why we’re committed to supporting this organization and the vital work they do in DeKalb County.
An Evening of Community and Connection
The venue captured the spirit of both organizations perfectly. Long communal tables stretched across an industrial-style space, each place setting thoughtfully arranged with eco-friendly wooden plates and fresh floral centerpieces. String lights cast a warm glow overhead, creating an inviting atmosphere where conversations flowed naturally and new connections formed throughout the evening. The exposed beams and open layout gave the event an authentic feel that reflected Rooted for Good’s grassroots approach to fighting hunger and building community.
Fresh Food, Fresh Purpose

Chef Josh showcased his culinary talents with a farm-to-table menu that celebrated Rooted for Good’s mission. Fresh garden salads bursting with vibrant vegetables – cherry tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, colorful bell peppers, and radishes – were arranged in beautiful steel bowls. Every dish highlighted the importance of fresh, locally sourced ingredients and demonstrated what’s possible when communities have access to healthy, sustainably grown food. It was a delicious reminder of what this organization works to provide every day.
A Partnership Rooted in Shared Values
Cresswood’s partnership with Rooted for Good has grown stronger over the years, built on shared values of sustainability and community impact. As a manufacturer of American made industrial shredders and recycling equipment, we understand the importance of transforming resources into something meaningful. Rooted for Good takes that same approach to addressing food insecurity – they don’t just provide meals, they empower people to access healthy food while tackling the root causes of hunger. Their mission resonates deeply with our commitment to making a positive difference in the communities where we operate.

Supporting a Vital Mission
The impact speaks for itself. Since 2012, Rooted for Good has fed thousands of neighbors and distributed hundreds of thousands of pounds of food. But this year has brought significant challenges. After losing a $750,000 federal grant earlier this year, community support has become more critical than ever. Events like “A Dinner for Good” help bridge that funding gap and bring together people who believe in creating lasting change.
Friday’s event reinforced why these partnerships matter to us. Cresswood was built on values of hard work, quality craftsmanship, and community responsibility. Supporting Rooted for Good allows us to live those values beyond our factory walls. We’re grateful to have been part of such a meaningful evening and look forward to continuing this partnership as Rooted for Good works to end hunger and empower individuals throughout DeKalb County.
