Cresswood Shredding Machinery has been a proud member of the Western Pallet Association (WPA) for many years. Each year, a group of us attend the WPA Annual Meeting held in Rancho Mirage, CA.

The Annual WPA Meeting is a fantastic event focused on networking with leaders in the pallet industry near the western United States. It allows us to discuss latest trends for wood waste recycling shredders and brainstorm a more sustainable future.

We wanted to bring you along with us this year to show our activities old and new. New connections were made, old friendships were rekindled, and engaging seminars were attended during our multi-day stay.

The Mission Of The WPAcresswood-attends-wpa-annual-meeting-roundup-wood-recycling-shredders

The mission of the WPA is simple: to support and promote the region’s wood pallet industry with sustainable solutions. Cresswood is a large part of fulfilling that mission in supplying western region customers with world-class industrial grinders. Our ongoing membership in WPA allows us to serve as a critical resource, providing pallet recyclers, cost-saving solutions, and better options for material handling and waste disposal operations. In a hyper-competitive marketplace, this is more essential than ever.

We are particularly motivated by the WPA’s values: community, inclusion, knowledge sharing, innovation, evidence-based, and sustainability. Cresswood shares each of these stellar core values, making our association with the WPA both genuine and natural.

Meeting Faces New And Old

Cresswood representatives were glad to meet with existing customers, including our friends Ignacio Alvarado and Dave Harms of Pallet Recyclers Northwest. We were happy to hear that their XR2400 is running like a champ, and strongly supporting all aspects of their organizational growth.

We also had the opportunity to connect with other vendors in this industry, including Craig Harris and Josh Harmon of Alliance Automation, and Brad Kirkaldy from Wood-Mizer LLC. Sharing group insights and experiences with other industry professionals is absolutely invaluable and opens unique opportunities for everyone.

Plus, Bret DeCamp and I had the distinct pleasure of golfing with Paul Quandt, who specializes in commercial insurance services to businesses in the wood recycling shredder industry. We had a blast!

Exploring The Feed Forward Presentationcresswood-attends-wpa-annual-meeting-roundup-wood-waste-recycling-shredders-2

WPA always goes the extra mile to present attendees with quality information. These include invaluable keynote speeches to develop emerging trends or information, some of which repackage interesting ideas through a unique or interesting lens.

The 2022 Annual WPA Meeting was certainly no exception. We were all blessed by the ‘Feed Forward’ presentation offered by keynote speaker Josh Klenoff. Josh’s company Helm has successfully coached hundreds of CEOs on optimizing performance by clarifying their vision. I personally found this presentation to be an extraordinary value in and of itself, and greatly enjoyed the interactive portions.
