At Cresswood Shredding Machinery, our commitment to giving back is rooted in the heart of our company culture. While we’re known for manufacturing American-made world class industrial shredders and grinders, we’re just as proud of the impact we make outside our facility walls—especially through our ongoing support of Cal’s Angels.
On April 27, 2025, our President, Ryan Butzman, and team member Conner O’Donnell stepped up (and shaved down!) for the annual Just Shave It event in support of pediatric cancer research. Through our Cresswood Cares initiative, we were honored to stand with other supporters to raise funds and awareness for this life-changing cause.

“Hair Today, Hope Tomorrow”
Thanks to many generous donations, Ryan raised $2,850, earning 3rd place overall in fundraising. The most meaningful part? Sharing the moment with Conner O’Donnell, a second-year team member and talented fabricator, who also shaved his head in solidarity.
“Conner isn’t just a skilled welder—he’s a fantastic human being and a joy to be around,” Ryan shared.
This year’s event raised over $37,000, benefiting the mission of Cal’s Angels—an organization that grants wishes, funds research, and provides vital support for families with children undergoing treatment at Lurie Children’s Hospital.

Why Cal’s Angels?
Tom and Stacey Sutter founded Cal’s Angels in honor of their son Cal, who passed away from leukemia at the age of 14. Their dedication to ensuring no family faces pediatric cancer alone has grown into a powerful nonprofit that brings hope and healing during some of life’s hardest moments.
