At Cresswood, one of our core values is simple but powerful: We serve each other and our partners. Every day, that value shows up in how we design world class industrial grinders, support our customers, and work together as a team. But once a year, we get to celebrate it in a different way, around a table filled with deep-fried turkey and the people who make this company what it is.
This November marks our 7th Annual Turkey Fry, and it was everything this tradition is meant to be: a chance for all the team members of the Cresswood family to come together, share a meal, and remember why we do what we do.
A Team Effort, Through and Through
What makes the Turkey Fry special isn’t just the food, it’s how the entire event comes together. President Ryan Butzman and assembly lead Jay Hawbaker fire up the fryers and cook the turkeys to perfection. Team members from the workshop take on the carving, ensuring everyone gets a generous portion. Others coordinate the setup, the sides, and all the little details that turn a good lunch into a great one.
It’s the same approach we take every day on the shop floor. Whether we’re fabricating American made industrial shredders, engineering a solution for a unique application, or coordinating a machine delivery, success at Cresswood has always been about collaboration. We’re a family-owned company with in-house capabilities, and that means every person plays a vital role in what we build and deliver.
Supporting Local, Building Community
True to our Midwestern roots, we partnered with a local catering company to provide the side dishes for this year’s Turkey Fry. Supporting local businesses matters to us, and it’s part of how we give back to the community that’s supported us for over 60 years.
But the real heart of the afternoon is the time we spend together. In the daily rhythm of manufacturing, engineering, and shipping machines across the country, it’s easy to stay focused on the work. The Turkey Fry gives us a moment to pause, look around, and appreciate the people we work alongside. The craftsmen, the machinists, the engineers, the support staff who make Cresswood what it is.

There’s something about breaking bread together that reminds us why we’re here. We’re not just building machines. We’re serving our customers, serving each other, and upholding a legacy of honesty, reliability, and integrity that’s been at the core of this company since the beginning.
As we head into the Thanksgiving season, we’re grateful for the team that shows up every day ready to serve, ready to solve problems, and ready to do the work the right way.
